I am using a camera to detect different parts, not the one from Robotiq but from Cognex. What I did to improve the contrast is mounting a red light, so now I have something like this (not that light but the best image I found on internet):
But I think that if you have good illumination the texture won't be a problem.
Hi pros,
we are looking at a project where we locate a steel part on a belt conveyor. We tested the parts on a uniform background at the shop. Everything worked fine.
However, the belt ont he conveyor is textures and we are afraid it will not work for the camera. The belt is clean and shows good contrast with the part but the only thing is that it is textured.
Any tips how to make the camera work on this background? Is is possible to somehow teach the background such that it can be identified and removed in the image analysis?
