Hello,

our one month old 2F-85 on a UR5 robot has suddenly lost communication.
It does not activate and work anymore, I checked all cables and plugs, restarted several times, and reinstalled the latest URcaps software. but no change.
We use the USB - RS485 converter supplied with the demo kit.
the LED on the gripper is solid red,
the Power LED of the converter is solid red,
the small TX LED of the converter is flashing at high speed appr. 8 times - 1 second pause - and again.
the RX LED of the converter is dark.

I than tried the RUI, it finds the converter/grippers COM port but is unable to connect. "connection lost".
the LED on the gripper is solid red,
the power LED is solid red,
the TX and RX LED is dark.
recover device does not help.

What else can I do?

regards
Oliver

Did the cable get pulled tight by any chance?  We had a solder connection inside the gripper base plate break about 18 or so months ago. I know Robotiq has made some improvements to that part but we had similar symptoms. Also, make sure there's no cuts anywhere on the cable, we had a zip tie that was pulled tight securing the cable to the arm cut the insulation and sever a wire causing an issue. Stopped using zip ties on the robot due to that.

the cable looks good. the cable entrancing the coupling looks also good. no signs of to much pull (never happened) or broken cable.
    the coupling is version 1.2.0
I can't see any soldering because its hidden underneath a shrink sleeving.
for demos we use velcro stripes to attach cables ti the robot arm, cheap, reusable and elastic loose fit.
