This how-to is intended for Robotiq 2-Finger 85 and 2-Finger 140 version 3.XNote : Changing from 85 to 140 mm and from 140 to 85 mm require the same tools and same steps.Back in 2015, we had released the 2-Finger 140 Adaptive Gripper (2F-140). This Gripper was designed to achieve tasks that required a wider stroke than our popular 2-Finger 85 Adaptive Gripper (2F-85). However, both Grippers have the same base. Their casing, motors and other internal devices are also the same. The main difference is the finger configuration. As we wanted our current users to be able to upgrade their Gripper(s) to a wider stroke, we now offer a conversion kit. Before going too far with the technical explanation, you should note that by switching your fingers from 85 mm to 140 mm, you will lower the payload of your Gripper by 50% (2.5 kg instead of the 5 kg payload of the 2F-85). If you want to know more about the conversion kit and how to install it just have a look at our blog post on the subject. You will find easy step by step instructions and this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WYhNos2Y0M
