What limits the camera to CB3.1

We've been discussing the camera and the limitation to only CB3.1 controllers and can't answer why that is. What is the hardware difference between the CB3 and the CB3.1 controller?

Hi @matthewd92, the CB3.1 does not have the same motherboard, the same CPU, the same memory and the same USB ports. The main restrictions comes from the processing power, the CB3.1 has a quad-core processor with much more power and it also runs a new Linux.
