We recently received the new high flex gripper cables for our grippers. They are really nice, but we are seeing a potential issue. They are so flexible that sometimes they will get wrapped around the robot as well as the gripper. We have enough slack near the gripper so that the wrist joints can rotate appropriately without it getting wrapped up most of the time. We were wondering if there was anyway we could get strain relief on them similar to like what is on the force torque sensors?
@abeachy_HG24 sorry, we do not have an integrated strain relief on the Gripper and no plans of adding it on the short term. I suggest you get your own strain relief device that would be fixed to the robot tool interface.
@etienne_samson okay that is fine, we probably will end up doing that. Just thought it would make sense for the gripper cables to be the same as the force torque, plus it would help keep the cable out of the way better in my opinion.
@abeachy_HG24 I agree with you, that's why we implemented this on the camera, if this improvement helps, we will probably add it to the Gripper coupling too. But we have no plans for that on the short term.
@abeachy_HG24 we don't sell any of those device, right now we got some ongoing test to recommend something to our customers, I will let you know !
