0.5mm diatmeter sounds very challenging to pick with a vacuum gripper.
I imagine you are using ePick gripper ?
First of all you will need to get appropriate cup to fit with the size of the object.
Because the object is very small, the cup will also be very small and the hole of the cup will be extremly small. The gripper may eventually always detect an object. The hole of the cup will be so small that the gripper always thing it is catching something.
I would use the continue grip mode of the gripper to keep a good vacuum level.
Hello people,
upfront: I don´t have much experience with the UR5e and the vacuum gripper from Robotiq, so excuse any stupid questions.
The Usage: I have to grip very small objects (cylinder of 4mm length and 0.5mm diameter) with a vacuum gripper and place them somewhere else.
The Problem: Since I´m trying to grip very small round objects (they must be gripped on the horizontal side, not the ends) the gripper doesn’t fully recognize the objects when it´s gripping. When the airflow starts it will say “50% - Object may be recognized”. The grip and the release don’t work most of the time. The Object stays with the gripper and doesn’t come off eventhough the gripper is not pulling any more vacuum and the initial pull of vacuum sometimes isn’t enough.
The Question: Can I somehow regulate a stronger airflow from the gripper and or push the object off instead of just stopping to pull vacuum?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Daniel
