On behalf of Robotiq and the DoF Crew, I am proud to present to the DoF pros before anybody else our new product, to launch on June 21, 2016, at Automatica: Camera, the 5-minute setup vision system for UR.

Robotiq’s Camera is a plug and play vision system for UR. It is comprised of a slim, self-lit wrist camera and easy to use software that installs right inside polyscope. No external PC is  needed to setup, program and run Camera. Everything is done from the teach pendant.

Robotiq’s Camera vision system for UR is a part locator. Teach Camera its workspace, then teach its part, and you’re done. Camera will locate parts as soon as they appear in its field of vision. You can then add a pick and place program (using our other Gripper and Force Sensor UR kits or any other tool).

The Robotiq Camera will be on display at Automatica 2016, June 21-24 in Munich. We’ll put more videos on DoF shortly showing the user interface and some examples of applications.

Will it also be possible to connect the camera to a secondary PC running for example Linux for 3rd party vision guided applications?

That sure is a great add-on!  I'm curious to know what kind of light you're using and if it's configurable...?

This is a wrist camera, so quite compact and easy to setup on UR robots as our other devices. A 2D Camera with led lightning system. We will release the spec sheet and further details on June 21st.

We haven't work on a package for developers using a PC and external usage, but we will keep this in mind. We will be glad to share some examples and options with this camera by the end of the month.

Absolutely awesome - the best camera solution for UR so far! Especially the single-cable solution for cam and gripper. It would be nice to also add the FT-communication to this as well!

I saw this camera on the Automatica. It looked very good.
