Grippers Won't Grip - Light Turns Red and Blue - Error Code UCG-1 |

I am using the Robotiq 2 finger adaptive gripper 85. I have the latest version of the URCap installed with a UR5. The robot, at random
times, will completely stop what it is doing and be in a dormant state. The
light on the grippers turns red and blue and it will not grip. As far as the
robot goes, it seems like it is waiting for the grippers to grip but they
won’t. There are no popups on the pendant until I try to reactivate the grippers,
and then I get an error message that says “An error occurred with the grippers.
Go to installation tab > Gripper and tap ‘Scan’. Error code: [UCG-1]”. We
haven’t ever really gotten this before (the robot has been running for almost 2
years now without this problem), so I’m not sure what the actual issue is, but
it has shut down production twice now. Any help would be appreciated.
Can I get some help with that? Thanks
hello I have the same problem on 2 cobot. 1 UR5 CB polyscope v3.13 + sensor FT300 + gripper 2F-140 old model with gripper urcaps 1.8.1 and another cell with UR5 CB polyscope v3.13 + sensor FT300 + gripper 2F-140 new generation robotiq gripper with urcaps 1.8.1. The light goes red then blue immediately, no error message on the pendant unless the LED stays red longer the message window opens with a pinch communication. Without message I select just pause and play to continue the cycle. I have the same cell latest generation gripper with UR5 eSeries and no problem. Do you have a solution?
There are some reasons that could explain this issue, including outdated software or even hardware failure. I have opened a support ticket to contact you directly and gather information to advise accordingly.
When the gripper is sometimes switched on, the blue and red light will both turn on; as a result, the gripper does not function, and restarting it does not make it work either!
