Control the 2F-85 gripper from a TCP socket? |

Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to create a socket lets say in python or c# and control the 2F-85 gripper from it externally? Or do I forcefully need to create a program in the UR robot as a middle step? Can we not use port 30002 to control the gripper directly?
