Note that this time, with this software, you don't simply jog the gripper like you use to do with the toolbar but you actually save the gripper motion properties directly into the UR program. Instead of using sub programs to control the gripper, there is a line called Gripper that can be added to your program which contains all functions that you need to control the gripper (Position, force and speed). So this makes the programming simpler and the program more neat!
@Ryan_Weaver @gradyturner86 @Enric @AlexYust : want to give it a try? Please post your questions and comments here!
Nice! That will be perfect for field technicians. I will contact UR to be in Beta distribution list. Thanks.
@WillBrad it's not planned on the short term for the 3-Finger, I guess we will wait and see the success of the 2-Finger!
@Samuel_Bouchard should finally have some time today to try this out, I'll post thoughts here -
Hi @Ryan_Weaver,Ryan_Weaver said:Very impressed with the look, feel and function of this little piece of software. I think it will make programming much simpler, and more successfully convey to a customer how easy it is during a demo. Without the need for clunky subprograms, the whole thing feels much more natural and built-in.
One comment: In this release it seems like the "step-through" button gets hung up at the Gripper Move command. I think it's important that this is working on release if possible, one of the compaints that I get with the current implementation is that you can't step through the code line-by-line because it gets stuck at the gripper subprog calls.
Thanks for taking the time to try the software and give us some comments. We indeed think that it will finally give a much cleaner integration than with the subprograms.
Regarding the error you get with the "step-through", we currently have a limitation that prevents us from playing only one gripper instruction. This is because the connection with the gripper is made in a script preamble that is inserted at the beginning of the program when the whole program is played, but not in the step-through mode.
We do however understand that this feature is quite desirable so we'll check with UR to see if there is a way to fix this before the release, or later if a change is required on their side.
Thanks for pointing it out!

release date?
@markus_rothtechnik , we are set for mid to end of June.
Perfect.Nicolas_Lauzier said:@Enric , the error message you get is because a change in the URCap API was made between 3.3 beta2 and the official release.
We will provide a new version on our website before the end of June.
Thanks!
Thanks @Enric @Ryan_Weaver for trying it out and to everybody for commenting.
There's a new public video that shows the interface here:

You can use the link to pass the information on to your colleagues! We also have a blog post that explains this software and the Path Recording.
Hi everyone,
We are very excited to share with you an exclusive preview of a new software Robotiq will launch soon. Watch the short video below to find out what we have been working on! We are ready to answer all of your questions.
You can click here to download the .urcap file.
But please note that in order to install this file, you need UR beta software 3.3.0.91 on your robot as it uses functionalities that are not released yet. Robotiq cannot distribute the UR beta software so this trial is only available if you are in the UR beta distribution list.
P.S More exclusive content is coming, so keep an eye out ;)
