Hi,

Anyone knows the IP rating of the Robotiq Grippers?

Alright, so the Robotiq products are not certified yet. However, we can estimate the IP ratings if we do compare with the IP certification criteria.

  • The grippers (2-F-85 and 2-F-140) are estimated at IP 54.
  • The sensor FT-300 is estimated at IP 40. If you need a higher rating, Robotiq R&D team will be glad to design a special cover to bring that rating up.
  • The FT-150 is at IP 67.
  • The 3-F is a particular case as the casing is at IP 54 but it does have external gears so nothing certain about this one. Robotiq also has designed a glove allowing to increase this rating even more.

Hi,
Can you tell how would gripper stand steamy environment? Every 5 sec for 1 sec. Steam temp 150 degrees Celsius. Robert

@robertg concerning the 2-Finger Gripper, you should know that its maximum operating condition is 50°C. The gripper can also withstand a relative humidity level up to 80% in non-condensing conditions. Depending on the operating temperature, the steam will likely condense on the gripper. Because of those reasons, I would not recommend exposing the gripper to 150°C steam during a cycle, even over 1 second.
