Hi Pros,

In my company we have UR5 with Robotiq 2-Finger 85 gripper, which is working as collaborative robot. We want to automatically open this gripper in case pushing emergency button by someone. Is it any possibility to perform this task?

    @DominikSz, it is not possible to do so if the Robotiq 2F-85 gripper is plugged directly in the UR. It could be done if the gripper would be plugged to an external PC or PLC even though it is usually advise not to open the gripper when the emergency stop is activated. The main reason is that if an object is gripped when the e-stop is pressed, it won’t drop it.

    @DominikSz, your full application gripper motions would need to be control through the PLC so that it is not possible to use the URCap anymore. The gripper uses modbus communication and that could be used with your PLC also or converted.
