Hello Pros,Is there a way to align/ guide these sachets in order to conveyor track them with robot? As you see they come out of pasteurization tunnel in complete randomness.Or robot+vision is the only solution for alignment? Many thanks in advance.
How would you sense where one was on the belt, what about the stacking that you see in the picture. How accurately do you need to pick them? Does rotation matter?
Thanks for your reply. Yes the stacking is a problem as well. The production rate is up to 350 Sachet/minute. I need to pick and place two sachets in a box of two per layer. Each box 12 layers. Photo attached
I think you're going to need vision to be able to orient the packages correctly. What type of robot are you looking to use at that speed? You'll probably need either a delta or scara and then probably want a couple of them to ensure everything is picked.
Exactly. Planning to use vision and 2 or 3 SCARAs.I am thinking to pick and place directly into box. That is instead of 2 sorting scara to align sachets. Then 2 packaging scara robots.I use 3 robots for pick and place into box directly. What do you think?
I'd agree with picking and packing directly. I'd look to see if there is a way to spread out the product on the bed. Do the sachets come out at different points onto the belt? If so you may want to have those points discharge at different points on the width of the belt so that the product is more spread out.
Could you possibly rig up a chute system so that when the product comes out of the machine they can be in multiple rows.
Dear @matthewd92, unfortunately the sachets come out from one source (pasteurization tunnel as in the photo). Then As you mentioned, I should find a way to spread them on the conveyor for SCARA to pick up. Until now, i have no idea how to!Dear @mhowe could you please explain what is Chute System? I would appreciate if you have a video for this to explain. Many thankts
@abdeldayem5 how wide is the pasteurization tunnel where the parts are discharging onto the conveyor?
Tunnel is about 5-6 M wide. However there is not much space in front of it! Please check layout attached.I am planning to take the products to another conveyor in order to have more space to work on.
Ok, but you could build a discharge chute that spanned across the conveyor and allowed product to fall across the width of the conveyor instead of just falling immediately on the belt and piling up. You could even kind of have dedicated lanes of you wanted depending on where from the tunnel they emerge.
@Abdelda this is my idea of a chute system, basically what @matthewd92 said as well. The chutes will spread out the product so they are not all on top of each other making it easier for the next step.
Yes your comments and guidance was very helpful. I draw a layout but Only the chute sys. will have many conveyors. I understand that it will solve the problem of overlap and spread the sachets over the conveyor for the vision.
Hello Pros,

Or robot+vision is the only solution for alignment?
Many thanks in advance.
