Hi pros, We used in past projects Advantech Data Acquisition modules (Adam Modules) to convert between serial protocols. We used this in the past mainly to convert protocols between Fanuc robots and external devices like an Hypertherm plasma cutting unit (RS485 to RS232). I was looking at Advantech's website this morning and found the module ADAM-4022T which allows you easily implement PID controls. It looks like you have 2 input signal, you can set the PID parameters and you get the results on the output channels. In some processes where you need to control flow or something else, it seems like this could be a good device to save some programming. I have not used it yet so I was wondering if any pros used this in their projects? Looking for some comments, tips and some examples!
