@Catherine_Bernier Thanks for the information. I knew that the gripper could be used for inside diameter gripping, but I didn't know that the object detection feature worked for ID gripping. Would I need to return my 2F85 gripper to the Robotiq Office to have the parallel kit installed?
Has anyone designed fingertips that can be used for both Inside Diameter and Outside Diameter gripping? This would be a great way to utilize the flexibility the gripper.

The inside grip is a feature often forgotten of the Robotiq gripper.
With the properly designed fingertips, you can have an inside grip of your parts with all the same feature of the normal grip.
So the force control, the speed control, the position control and even the object detection feature and the position feedback feature.
It's important to know that by applying a force on the tip of the finger from the outside, the gripper will enter in the encompassing mode. To have the best grip with inside gripping, you'll need our parallel kit which blocks the fingers in a parallel position.
This can be very useful according to your process and parts.
Here is a small video showing the inside grip. Note that the fingertips were made temporarily for the demo purpose.

Can you share a video where you use the inside grip and detail your fingertips?
