Robotiq's 2F grippers use modbus RTU communication (RS485). If the controller you are using does not support Modbus RTU, you will need to use Robotiq's universal controller, which converts basically any type of signal to modbus.
A cheaper and simpler alternative would be to use Robotiq's new I/O coupling, that uses 2 digital inputs to control the gripper. Hardware connection will be a consideration, as the connector is designed either for a UR or Omron wrist connector.
