@lmodena as the old adage goes, Anything is possible, just takes time and money.
The short answer is yes, its possible to use the analog signal from the robot to the sewing machine, this will probably take some sort of analog converter as I am sure that the sewing machine is probably operating on something other than 24VDC. Siemens makes some products for doing this I know and I am sure the other companies like AB and Murr do as well.
Controlling the signal from the UR so that end of arm travel speed dictates the analog signal will be a bit tricky, the TCP speed is available as a modbus register, registers 410-415 for each of the 3 axes (translation and rotation) in mm/s and mrad/s. You would need to use these registers to know the exact speed the robot is actually moving and then coordinate the proper analog signal.
Hi there!
I'm currently working on integrating my UR5e to a traditional sewing machine.
The sewing machine by itself requires a pedal (analog input) so the speed of needle varies accordingly.
Our idea is to provide this signal from the robot and with some sort of programming the needle speed should vary according to EOAT travel speed.
Is it possible to be done?
Thanks,
