When using DeviceNet protocol, it is very important to have resistors located on both end of the communication cable. Those resistors are also called end-of-line devices.
According to odva.org:
Make sure to consider this in your next DeviceNet integration.
According to odva.org:
The terminating resistor reduces reflections of the communication signals on the network. It is recommended to use 120 ohms resistors. In an integrated robotic system, the further device to add the resistor to is often the end-of-arm tool.
Attention: If you do not use terminating resistors as described, the DeviceNet (TM) cable system will not operate properly.
Make sure to consider this in your next DeviceNet integration.
