Sales & Marketing Coordinator @ Robotiq
I'm Samuel, co-founder and CEO at Robotiq. We created the company to free human hands from repetitive tasks. I believe that DoF is well aligned with this mission : by sharing information, we can stop reinventing the wheel and deploy robots faster. I'm here to connect with our users and partners, learn from them, share our passion and expertise about robots.
I'm Sebastien. I'm part of the R&D team. I work at Robotiq for 3 years now. I'm responsible to make the magic (electronics) that allow our gripper the grip anything! I also contribute to our blog when i manage to find spare time. Let me know if you have questions about electronics stuff.
I'm Alex. I have been an Application Engineer at Robotiq since March 2015. I am here to help clients with their automation applications. It is always fun to see what people want to achieve with robotics. Don't be afraid to get in touch with me to discuss some applications, we can get creative and find the best solutions for you!
I'm Nic and I've arrived at Robotiq in 2011. I am a project manager in R&D, mainly working on the software side of our current and future products. More specifically, I've worked on the integration of our products, on the firmware of our sensors and on hand guiding. I'm here to help our customers and learn the typical pain points that they encounter when deploying robots.
Nicolas Lauzier, Eng., PhD
I'm Louis-Alexis. I joined Robotiq in 2011 as a mechanical engineer and since 2012 I'm a project manager in R&D. I'm mainly focused on the hardware side of our products and I love to see them in action, as at the DARPA Robotics Challenge. I'll be happy to discuss with you on how our products are working, what is our special sauce. In return, I want to hear about how you use our products, what should we keep, what should we change... it's your opportunity to have a part in the design of our products!
I'm David, Project Manager for Robotiq since June 2015. Let's say i'm more of a behind the curtain guy as I am in charged of the IT systems and internal processes. My goal is to make sure that all the tools that we use internally are aligned with Robotiq's mission : to free human hands.
I'll be working closely with Amanda and the rest of the Crew to make sure that DoF meets your needs and expectations !
I'm Jean-Philippe Mercier and work in the R&D team and also as PhD researcher on computer vision.
Computer Vision Junior Engineer
I'have been working since many years in sales and technical support and I love to help customers facing challenges. I joined the Robotiq team in 2013. This forum is a unique resource for the robotic community. I will be working with all of our members to ensure successful projects using collaborative robots. Let's find a solution to your problem!
Ryan here, Automation Engineer at Axis New England. We have been a Robotiq partner since 2012, around the same time we started working with Universal Robots. I have a diverse set of responsibilities ranging from sales, to technical support, as well as things like video production and web marketing. My focus has become more specialized on our growing robotics business, and I hope that we can all continue to capitalize on the success and growth of collaborative/flexible robotics.
See you on the forums!
Ryan Weaver | Automation Engineer | Axis New England
I'm Matt, I'm the COO and cofounder of Hirebotics. We are bringing a new model into the automation world, basically hiring a robot and paying by the hour in lieu of absorbing all the costs upfront. My responsibilities include not only cell design and integration of UR robots into our customer but also developing the code that runs on a companion system to the robot which gives us real time data from the robot and allows us to have two way communications with it from our iOS app via the cloud. Many companies have moved from onsite software to software in the cloud via SAAS companies. We are developing Robots as a Service for small to mid-size companies. I've a pretty long (relatively speaking) history with UR having integrated our first couple at a previous employer in 2014. Since then I've purchased 17 of them between the two companies. I look forward to growing this community where we can learn from and support each other.
Look ok forward to collaborating with all of you!
Best wishes from the Vicosystems team.
I am Enric Vila, one of the two founding partners of Vicosystems.
We make integration of Robotics for 15 years. Currently, we are official distributors of UR, Robotiq, Artiminds and Mobile industrial Robots in Spain.
Now, our experience helps us to give the necessary support the products of our partners to our customers.
Our goal is to provide our experience to get the products of our partners to be implanted in Spain.
We look forward to helping in this way to Robotiq and that is beneficial for all.
Industrial Collaborative Systems
My name is Kaleb, and I'm an applications engineer at Axis System in Auburn Hills, MI. Axis Systems is an industrial automation supplier and has been partners with Robotiq for a few years now. My role at Axis includes engineering support, troubleshooting, marketing automation, and demo/video content. I'm very excited to be a part of DoF and looking forward to some new product releases coming soon from Robotiq!
My name is Pierre and I joined Robotiq in 2012. I'm a software designer and I mainly work on product integration. These times I work a lot with UR so if you have any questions regarding how to use our products on this platform (or any other), feel free to ask.
We became UR integrator and Robotiq distributor recently. Our reason to set our foot into the cobot market was mainly because I love how easy it is with these products to solve automation tasks in a flexible, economical and future-oriented way. We are robotics newbies but already have done a few nice projects including injection molding automation, a product demonstrator for exhibitions, and soon a CNC mill handling application. And many more will follow. So far being a newbie in a field hasn't hindered us to provide innovative, consistent overall solutions to our customers, and it will be the same for robotics!
looking forward to this community and enriching exchange!
My name is Deen (it's not a typo, my name is really spelt that way), I'm currently completing à master's degree in robotics engineering à ÉTS in Montreal. I am working with tactile sensors and machine learning to determine to quality of a grasp at the moment of the grasp.
I have many more projects lined up after I complete my thesis !
I'm looking forward to all the possibilities this community will create !
I am with MSI Tec out of our Irvine, California office. We have been a Robotiq partner for 4 years now. I am a Field Automation Engineer and am focused on sales and integration. I am excited to be a part of this community and hope to add value with my experience.
Field Automation Engineer
My name is Conghui and I am currently a research fellow in the robotics research center in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. I am also Co-founder and CTO of Aitreat Pte. Ltd. which develop the world first TCM massage assistive robotic system. We are using UR5 robot and FT300 F/T sensor for our first prototype. In our research center, we also have UR10, UR3 and two fingers, three fingers gripper from Robotiq.
I am excited to be a part of this community and hope to make more friends here.
I'm Tyler Martin, I am an Automation tech at Ultra Manufacturing in Waterloo ON. Canada. We build and design fixtures for our plastic injection molding plant to assemble and check automotive interior parts. I have only been working with Robotiq and UR for a short time but am excited with the possibilities that they offer us for future projects.
My name is Laurie, and I'm a Bachelor student at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) in Montreal. While doing my summer semester, I am working on the Robotiq ROS packages documentation. Previously, as an internship at ÉTS, I worked with ROS and the UR10 to determine the best prehension strategy of the Robotiq C-Model gripper. I also worked with the FT150 to validate the success of a grasp, and the simulation software V-REP.
I still consider myself as a robotic beginner, but I look forward to make a difference in the community, and learn from it.

This Carlos from Beta Robots, Spain. Got here thanks to our friend Enric from Vicosystem.
We are a start-up company that looks at moving research results into commercial products via functional prototypes (mostly software and hardware integration).
Personally, I've spent most of my time on "trying" to figure out how to grasp any object with state-of-the-art robotic hands, autonomously. I recently worked with the Pisa/IIT SoftHand which is a very nice piece, and I'm eager to see what comes out of the Robotiq grippers (I'm a fan of the 2-fingers model already).
Adaptivity, and at the same time, robustness, makes you change the way you would think an object can be picked up.
