Is the Force Torque Sensor FT 300 compatible with the ABB IRC5?

Hi!
We want to integret the FT300 with ABB IRC5. Is the Force Torque Sensor FT 300 compatible with the ABB IRC5? If it is, how?

@LiuYi the FT Sensor (FT-300 and FT-150) are standard Modbus RTU slave unit. You can convert the Modbus signal to any fieldbus and can communicate with any robot. You will need to check what fieldbus option your IRC5 controller has, then get a converter like those sold by Anybus.

You will need to read our section on serial communication in the instruction manual to get all the info you need.

@Etienne_Samson You mean that certain converter is necessary in order to be applicable for ABB robot?

@BenjaminK our devices communicate with Modbus RTU, my guess is your ABB does not, so you need to convert yes. Do you know what protocol your robot controller got? Also make sure it is a master unit, not a slave, the Robotiq is the slave unit.
